Not just teeth that need love!

Did you know that a tongue depressor can help fight bad breath?

Be honest with yourself! How many times in your life have you used a tongue depressor? In fact, the majority of people assume that brushing their teeth and occasionally flossing are enough to maintain good oral hygiene.

But people often forget the last piece of the puzzle - the tongue depressor. It's not just teeth and gums that attract bacteria, but the tongue is a storage place too.

Bad breath?

Bad breath is not at all uncommon and is caused by bacteria stored on the back of the tongue, and rarely by food (prolonged bad breath). The top of the tongue has short, dense little hairs called papillae. Food debris and dead cells can get stuck between the papillae. Together with bacteria, they form a coating where the bacteria can remain. The bacteria thrive in the coating, where they can multiply and produce smelly substances. The coating gives the tongue a colour that is often greyish-white, yellow or brownish.

Scraping off the coating

With a tongue scraper, you can make sure to scrape the coating of bacteria off your tongue.Sure, you can do it with a toothbrush too, but the tongue scraper is specially designed for this, plus it's easy to rinse off and keep clean from bacteria, unlike the toothbrush.

So be sure to make it a habit to use the tongue scraper if you want to maintain good oral hygiene. An excellent addition and a must-have in any bathroom.

Usage

*Try to make it a habit to use the tongue scraper every day.

*Stick out your tongue.

*Press the tongue depressor with the raised part downwards against the tongue as far back as possible and pull forward. Clean the sides of the tongue using the smooth side of the tongue depressor.

*Rinse the tongue depressor after each pull. Finally, rinse the mouth thoroughly with water.
