About iSiBRUSH

What is iSiBRUSH?

iSiBRUSH is not something advanced, magical or something that claims to create miracles. In short, it's a simple children's toothbrush! A U-shaped toothbrush for children made from food-grade silicone and shaped like the toothbrush itself, so it only needs to be wiggled back and forth to brush teeth, which in turn makes it much easier for children to do this on their own. This, combined with the iSiBRUSH's appearance, makes it much more motivating for children to brush their teeth, which is not usually a favourite chore.

Does iSiBRUSH brush clean everywhere?

Since the iSiBRUSH is u-shaped, it is meant to reach everywhere in the mouth, even though it comes in two different sizes. However, it is important to know that all jaws and teeth are different, including the length of children's teeth. With a regular toothbrush, you have the freedom to brush exactly where you want, while the iSiBRUSH brushes in a so-called fixed position. With this, it may not reach the very back or perhaps the gum line. But this depends entirely on the above aspects. Hence, we recommend brushing with a regular toothbrush at regular intervals, little by little, on the surfaces that may usually be hard to reach to ensure that all surfaces remain clean. Given the size of the iSiBRUSH, it can be difficult to see when it is placed in the mouth if it actually reaches all the way to the back. But normally it is designed and shaped to clean the entire mouth.

Is the iSiBRUSH approved by dentists?

When it comes to approval, dentists do not have any role or authority to approve toothbrushes. Toothbrushes are not "approved" by any professional group or body.

There is nothing about the iSiBRUSH that would make it not recommended by dentists. In short, it's a toothbrush that's just shaped differently. As for the material, it is an approved material that has many advantages and has received nothing but good mentions in all studies. There are also some smaller studies regarding this type of brush, but even there no criticism has been made. However, some smaller studies have shown that the electric models have demonstrated poor results. However, we do not know how this study was carried out and more details.

Of course, we have consulted a lot of dentists who do not see anything at all strange or negative about this type of toothbrush. Even children who have used these, have received full marks without any remarks on their dental checkups.

If you are unsure about this type of toothbrush, you must also remember, and as one dentist said: That it is all times better that the child actually brushes their teeth, even if it is sloppy, than not at all. By this we mean that many parents have the problem of not getting their children to brush their teeth at all, perhaps occasionally. If you can then get your child to actually brush their teeth with something you are "hesitant" about, it is after all much better than not brushing at all.

To sum it all up, the iSiBRUSH is an "approved" children's toothbrush in the respects that it can now be "approved", and there are no objections from the dentists we have been in contact with or that our users have been in contact with.

Can children brush their own teeth with iSiBRUSH?

Of course they can. iSiBRUSH is designed to be easy, so easy that children can brush their teeth themselves. However, it is important to remember that you as a parent are always responsible and should always be present, especially when it comes to young children. The most important thing with young children is that they should not swallow toothpaste (which is not recommended), therefore as a parent you should make sure that they spit out toothpaste/foam during brushing, and not swallow it. This may need to be trained at first, as with an iSiBRUSH you brush your teeth with a closed mouth, so children may forget to spit out the toothpaste, as opposed to brushing their teeth with an open mouth.

How much toothpaste should I use?

The amount of toothpaste on a u_shaped children's toothbrush should be the same as on a normal children's toothbrush, i.e. about the size of a little fingernail or pea. Spread this small amount along the rail on both sides. I.e. extremely small dabs distributed on text edge, middle, edge on both sides.

How long should I brush my teeth with an iSiBRUSH?

About one minute is enough! But a regular toothbrush is recommended to brush your teeth for two minutes. But since a U-shaped toothbrush brushes all teeth at the same time, one minute is enough.

How to use an iSiBRUSH?

1. Spread a small amount of toothpaste all over the rail. The same amount of toothpaste as you would use on a regular children's toothbrush. Suggestion: apply a very small amount on one edge, in the middle and the other edge, and do the same on the other side of the rail.

2. Make sure your child bites the teeth together just right in the middle of the rail. Not too hard so that the rail cannot be touched and not too loose so that it does not clean. This can be good to test before and without toothpaste, so that the child gets the hang of the technique, which usually goes quite quickly once they understand the concept.

3. Wiggle the toothbrush back and forth, left to right for about a minute.Make sure the child spits out the suds at regular intervals, as they have a tendency to swallow it without thinking about it. Small mouths fill up quite quickly, which means they may need to spit out suds a few times during the brushing process. Especially if you've had more toothpaste on the shelf.

A tip is also to use an hourglass!

4. Rinse out your mouth and rinse off your toothbrush. Then it was done!

A tip to make brushing even easier is to use an hourglass; this has been shown to be very effective in motivating children to brush their teeth. Explain that they are done when the sand has run out. You can also say that it's a competition and that if the child has brushed their teeth before the sand runs out, they've won! Last but not least, you can each have an hourglass, one at one minute for the child and one at two minutes for you. Explain that it's a competition and that the hourglass that runs out first wins. The child will then speed up with the brush, just as if it were a running race. And of course the child will win every time who has a faster hourglass:)

Hourglasses are free when you buy three products here on iSiBRUSH or they can also be bought separately.
