Baby food: Potato and carrot purée
Potato and carrot puree
Introducing your baby to homemade food is a wonderful experience and a great opportunity to boost their little bodies with nutrition. A safe and popular choice for little ones is a smooth and mild potato and carrot puree. Here is a simple recipe for you to try:
Ingredients:
- 2 medium-sized carrots
- 1 medium-sized potato
- water
How to do it:
-
Prepare the vegetables:
Peel and cut the carrots and potatoes into small pieces.
-
Cooking:
Place the carrot and potato pieces in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to the boil and simmer until the vegetables are soft, which takes about 20 minutes.
-
Mash the vegetables:
Drain the water and use a potato masher or blender to mash the vegetables into a smooth puree. If the puree is too thick, add a little water until it reaches the desired consistency.
-
Serving:
Allow the puree to cool before serving it to your baby. Leftover puree can be stored in the fridge for up to two days or frozen for later use.
Tip: Don't forget to introduce new foods one at a time, especially if your child is under one year old, to observe any allergic reactions.
